FCC Construcción has published its Environmental Communication 2026, which brings together the key data and initiatives undertaken by the company in the environmental field of the during the 2025 financial year. Produced on a voluntary basis since 2000, this publication is an exercise in transparency and accountability and reflects FCC Construcción’s commitment to sustainability, continuous improvement and the development of responsible and resilient infrastructure.

FCC Construcción has an Environmental Management System certified according to ISO 14001, its own digital tools and the System of Good Environmental and Social Practices®, which aims to promote voluntary measures that go beyond legal and contractual compliance.

This edition highlights the environmental actions and good practices implementedin our projects during 2025. All of this is aligned with the 2023-2026 Sustainability Strategy, which sets out the path towards effectively mitigating our emissions, adaptating to climate change and the transition to a circular economy. 
 
The Environmental Communication is structured around the following themes: 

• Climate change. 
• Transition to a circular economy. 
• Sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources. 
• Protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems. 
• Land-use planning.

Furthermore, as a ‘Success Story’, this edition features the modernisation project for the Lugoj-Timișoara East railway line, in Romania, of great importance, in which specific measures have been developed for monitoring and reducing emissions, decontaminating ballast, monitoring and protecting biodiversity, conserving archaeological heritage, and managing communication and stakeholder relations. The project serves as an example of how environmental planning and the involvement of teams can transform the challenges associated with the delivery of a major infrastructure project into opportunities for innovation and improvement.
