ALPINE Receives the “Building of the Year 2010” Award in Poland

The MKS Cracovia Stadium in Poland, built by ALPINE and its Polish partner KPBP BUDUS, has been graced with the "Building of the Year 2010" Award in the category of sports facilities. This award has been given out since 1989 by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction and the Building Supervisory Authority.
On this occasion, the jury evaluated the quality of construction, the structural solutions applied, site organization and site safety. The General Manager of ALPINE Bau AG in Germany, Karsten Hell, was well pleased by the award, which underlines the commitment of the company and its employees.
The award-winning stadium occupies the same site as an earlier facility, built in 1912. On its western side the stadium has a modular stage for hosting major events. It has the capacity for 15,000 spectators, and its construction period was 15 months long.
ALPINE's Presence in Building Work in Poland
ALPINE is involved in constructing three stadiums for the EURO 2012 European Football Championship. Further projects it is engaged in include the new Chemistry Department at Gdansk University. These projects strengthen ALPINE's presence in Poland, where it already has more than 300 employees.
