FCC Industrial finishes the refurbishment works of the Castellana 278 building for the lessees: the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX Spain Export and Investment), the Spanish state-run agency, Spain Business Overseas, and Cofides S.A., a Spanish company that provides funding for development. The three companies will occupy close to 15,000 m2 of this emblematic office block. Another 500 m2 distributed into two premises on the ground floor will be allocated to restaurants, adding to the services on offer in the area.

In the redevelopment, environmental and energy saving criteria were given priority, which has been awarded with the LEED Gold accreditation (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). For the air conditioning in the new building, a VRV system has been installed which optimises comfort, reduces the environmental impact and ensures a considerable energy saving. On the other hand, water consumption is controlled by the use of sensors and sanitary appliances to promote reduced consumption.

FCC Industrial has finished the works in a record time of nine months. The project had a budget of 8.5 million euros. The refurbishment activities of the Castellana 280 building are currently still underway.

Aiming for comprehensive refurbishment.

FCC Industrial continues to endorse comprehensive refurbishment of buildings. Projects like Castellana 278 and Torre Castellana (formerly Windsor building) are a clear example of this type of work, combining criteria of sustainability, energy efficiency and profitability.

FCC Industrial is currently carrying out comprehensive refurbishment of the Castellana 280 building with a budget of 7.3 million euros and a completion deadline planned for April of this year.
