In Mexico FCC does business through its subsidiary FCC México, which is engaged in important projects such as Coatzacoalcos underwater tunnel in the state of Veracruz. Coatzacoalcos is a great example of technological innovation in the construction field, since it is the first tunnel of its sort in Latin America. Recently FCC finished building the piers for San Marcos Viaduct, the second-tallest viaduct in the world, and it has now secured a contract to build the junctions on the Cabo San Lucas Bypass in Baja California.
