The activities of the FCC Group’s construction division cover all areas of engineering and construction, and it is a leader in the execution of civil engineering works (roads, railways, airports, hydraulic and maritime works, tunnels, bridges, underground railways, wastewater treatment plants) and building construction (residential and non-residential: healthcare, sports, cultural and corporate facilities, etc.).

It comprises a group of companies operating in the industrial and energy sectors, grouped under a single brand, FCC Industrial, as well as other activities related to the construction sector.

FCC Construcción has been operating in Chile for over 20 years. Its work has focused on major motorways and tunnels, airports, one of the largest urban regeneration projects in Santiago and what is the country’s second-largest bridge.

Notable among the infrastructure projects completed are the Concepción Industrial Bridge, major roadworks and transport infrastructure, such as the complex widening and geometric improvement of the Cuesta de las Chilcas on Route 5 North (reducing gradients to 7 per cent and including a viaduct of high technical complexity), the urban section of the Northern access to Santiago, the widening of carriageways to improve the access roads to the city of Iquique, and the refurbishment of the road link on the Eje Lo Marcoleta in Quilicura.

Finally, in the field of urban regeneration, Parque Mapocho Río is one of the most extensive projects in the Chilean capital.

Among its first major milestones in the country was the construction of the passenger terminal at the Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, which consolidated the construction company’s operational base within the country.
