FCC Construcción’s reputation in Peru’s port sector is underpinned by its completion of phases 1 and 2 of the modernisation of the Callao Port North Multipurpose Terminal, the country’s main hub for maritime trade. This highly technically complex project required civil engineering works to be carried out alongside the port’s day-to-day operations without disrupting the national logistics flow. The works included deep-draft dredging of the access channel, the demolition of old underwater structures and the construction of a new container quay designed to support state-of-the-art gantry cranes (Super Post-Panamax), drastically optimising the loading and unloading times for deep-draught vessels.

Furthermore, the company’s work encompassed the development of extensive container yard areas, the construction of modern silos for free-flowing grain with automated unloading systems, and the construction of dedicated quays for general cargo and liquid bulk. By applying stringent standards in hydraulic engineering, marine environmental impact control and industrial safety, FCC succeeded in transforming the Port of Callao into a highly competitive logistics hub on the southern Pacific coast, demonstrating its high level of specialisation in maritime works and heavy engineering projects in active coastal environments.
