FCC and the European Construction Sector Sign Sustainability Statement

FCC and the European Construction Sector Sign Sustainability Statement

On 21 June last a joint declaration of sustainability was signed at Kröller-Möller Museum in the Netherlands by a score of firms aligned with the European Network of Construction Companies for Research and Development -ENCORD-. The charter was ratified by executives from the companies attending, one of whom was Francisco Esteban Lefler, Innovation and Technology Manager at FCC Construcción.
Having reached this milestone, the ENCORD member companies, including FCC, will implement their statement in a targeted action plan that they will present, together with their experience, to the 2,000 participants in the 2011 World Sustainable Building Conference, to be held in Helsinki in mid-October.

ENCORD and FCC

ENCORD, founded in 1989, is a forward-looking network of the leading European companies active in the building sector. ENCORD's statement expresses the vision that research, development and innovation in the construction sector help significantly to create a more-sustainable world. Member companies undertake to adhere to the principles established in the charter through their activities and to share practical experience with a view to improving the quality of construction activity and creating added value in society.

FCC was the first construction firm in the world to publish a sustainability report in accordance with the G3 standard, in 2003. Since then it has been honouring its commitment to more-sustainable development through the values of information transparency, anti-corruption, commitment to talent and continuous innovation.
