FCC Construcción signs the Bali declaration against the climate change

The Bali Declaration has arisen from the Cambridge University Industry Programme and the United Kingdom's Prince of Wales Group of business leaders regarding the climate change in relation to the forthcoming United Nations conference on the climate change taking place in Bali, Indonesia, between 3 and 17 December to promote solutions at the international level.

It has been signed by 140 companies throughout the world, 15 of them Spanish, including FCC Construcción and Pórtland Valderrivas. This is an unprecedented initiative in which the business community is calling for:

  • The need for a United Nations legal framework to face up to the climate change.
  • Reduction of the emissions that must be directed by science.
  • Industrialised countries to make the greatest effort.

World leaders to take advantage of this opportunity and agree to a working plan for negotiations to ensure an agreement to come into force in 2012 when the existing Kyoto protocol expires.
