FCC Construcción reaches its goal of verifying 100% of its activity under the ISO 14064 Standard, of Greenhouse Gas emissions

FCC Construcción has published the greenhouse gas report for fiscal year 2020. It is said that what is not measured cannot be managed or improved. This report quantifies the company's emissions and verifies for the first time, and in a pioneering way in the sector, all of these emissions throughout its entire operation in all its activity and in all the countries in which the company is present.

FCC Construcción established among its 2017-2020 Management Objectives that of expanding the verification of the GHG emissions inventory to the international level, so that by 2020 it would have 100% of the activity verified, under the ISO 14064-1 Standard. This year we reached this goal and we provide all our stakeholders, collaborators, clients, society, in general, with complete information on everything we do and in all the parts of the world where we carry out our work.

Compliance with this objective means that GHG emissions produced in Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, Mexico are quantified and verified. , Colombia, Chile, Peru, the United States, Canada, Qatar and Saudi Arabia in fiscal 2020.

The absolute extension of the verification has meant carrying out actions such as the dissemination of the organization's emissions quantification methodology among its own personnel, to make them aware of the importance of the annual GHG emissions report and the climate change strategy. of the company; the compilation of specific emission factors for all the different countries and the different sources of GHG in the inventory or the establishment of internal controls to ensure the quality of the inventory activity data.

This achievement represents the culmination of a path started in 2010, when FCC Construcción began to integrate the concept of climate change, becoming the first Spanish company in the sector to submit its emissions to external verification by AENOR.

You can see the Greenhouse Gas report in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Romanian.
