FCC Construcción publishes its ‘Environmental Communication 2025’ report
FCC Construcción presents its 2025 Environmental Communication, which compiles the most relevant data and actions in environmental matters for the 2024 financial year. This report, which since 2000 has been a voluntary exercise in transparency and accountability, reaffirms our commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement, consolidating our position as a benchmark in the sector.
FCC Construcción has an Environmental Management System, certified under the ISO 14001 standard, which, based on the identification of the risks and impacts associated with our actions and the recording of the results of decisions, allows us to determine the best practices for mitigating the negative impacts related to our projects and thus progress towards continuous improvement.
As a new development, starting this year, the Environmental Communication will be published annually, as will the Sustainability Report. This represents a further step forward in our commitment to transparency, awareness and environmental dissemination, offering up-to-date and accessible information on our performance and contribution to global challenges.
This edition highlights the environmental actions and good practices developed in our projects during 2024. All of this is aligned with the 2023-2026 Sustainability Strategy, which sets out the path towards the effective mitigation of our emissions, adaptation to climate change and the transition to a circular economy.
The 2025 Communication is structured around the following themes:
- Climate change.
- Transition to a circular economy.
- Sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources.
- Protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems.
- Land use planning.
The document also includes several success stories that demonstrate the commitment and solid environmental performance of the projects. This edition includes a new chapter dedicated to these good practices: ‘Successful Projects’. It highlights a specific project, the Rubí Line in Porto, which integrates multiple actions aimed at responding to environmental impacts and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.
A chapter on society has also been included: ‘Involving Society in Responsible Management’. It highlights the importance of training and awareness-raising, stakeholder involvement and active communication on environmental issues.
