CC Construcción appointed Green World Ambassador 2014
Enniskillen Hospital, in Northern Ireland has been chosen as an example of best environmental practices.

RRC - The Portuguese example
Ramalho Rosa Cobetar, FCC Construcción’s Portuguese representative, is yet another example of the firm’s commitment towards the environment. It has been the first Portuguese construction firm to obtain certification for its environmental-management system, under the standard ISO14001, having obtained over the last decade and more recognition from its clients in this field.
FCC Construcción, a member of the infrastructure division of Public Services Group, is a Green World Ambassador for 2014. The award was granted in recognition of the environmental Project implemented at Enniskillen Hospital, at an event held at the House of Commons in London.
The project at the Northern Irish hospital has also won three other prizes. Last June it was awarded the Green Apple, in the category of improvement of surrounding areas and architectural heritage, as well as recognition in Engineering News Record magazine’s Global Best Project Awards. And this week it won its third prize: the Building Better Healthcare Award for the exceptional work done at Enniskillen Hospital in Northern Ireland.
FCC’s green credentials
Over the last five tears, FCC’s focus on the environment and sustainability has received international recognition from the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and FTSE4Good Index. FCC is a pioneer in green technology, as demonstrated by the EU-funded project to convert algae into biofuel.
The environmental commitment of FCC’s principal shareholder
In May 2013, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Environment awarded to FCC’s principal shareholder, Esther Koplowitz, the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Environmental Merit, in recognition of her "contribution to protecting the environment in her role as principal shareholder of the FCC Group and through the Esther Koplowitz Foundation".
FCC Construcción committed to the environment
FCC Construcción has made a permanent commitment to a business model that is oriented towards sustainable construction. This environmental undertaking is a priority issue throughout the group, driven by senior management and in place for many years now.
