The president of Chile officially starts the Mapocho Río Park project, executed by FCC Construcción
The president of Chile has officially started the Mapocho Río Park project, in a ceremony that was attended by neighbors, authorities and FCC Construcción.
Mapocho Río is a project that seeks to recover and revitalize the south bank of this river in the western sector of Santiago, in the communes of Quinta Normal and Cerro Navia. At the end of the project, it will have an area of 52 hectares in a length of 9 kilometers.
It is the largest urban work project with green areas contemplated in the current program of the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism, and the second largest urban project at the national level. FCC Construcción obtained 5 of the 6 sections contemplated by the park.
The project presents an advance of 23.88%, considering its delivery for the first months of 2022.
Its design was the result of an active citizen consultation. The park includes 950 square meters of squares with water games; 4,650 square meters of children's squares; 1350 square meters of sports plazas; 5 playgrounds; 2 soccer fields; 1 skating area incorporating a central figure skating area; 5 multi-courts for sports activity or free use; 2 skatepark; 1 athletics track; 1 free climbing bouldering area; green esplanades and vegetation zones; places for community activities; among others.
