The FAST consortium, led by FCC Construcción, has reached the safety milepost of 3,000,000 man-hours without a single occupational accident on line 5 of the Riyadh Metro.

This milepost was reached because of the high safety standards implemented in the project and the commitment of all members of the consortium in adopting health and safety as a priority in the building of the suburban transport infrastructure.

The contract, led by FCC, consists of the designing and building of lines 4 (yellow), 5 (green) and 6 (purple) of the new Metro system which consists of 25 stations. The contract includes the building of 64.5 kilometres of Metro lines, 33 kilometres of viaducts, 22 kilometres of underground tracks and 9 kilometres of surface tracks.

The Riyadh Metro will become the world’s largest Metro with six lines covering 175 kilometres.
