The FCC Group’s construction division saw a 22.2% increase in revenue during the first quarter of 2026
The FCC Group’s construction division has seen a significant increase in revenue of 22.2% during the first quarter of 2026, reaching €764.8 million. The growth in revenue is attributable to the greater progress made on new projects added to the portfolio, notably those relating to rail and road infrastructure.
By geographical area, in Spain, turnover saw a significant increase of 40.3%, reaching €365.8 million. This growth is due to the faster pace of execution on projects such as the Nou Mestalla (Valencia), as well as progress on various refurbishment, road and rail contracts. In Europe, turnover remained at €163.8 million. In the Americas, turnover rose to €180.5 million, 37.7% higher than the previous year due to progress on new rail contracts, notably the Ontario Metro Tunnel (Canada) and Metro Line 2 (New York). In the Middle East and Australia, revenue rose significantly by 45.9% to €54.7 million, driven by milestones achieved at the Qiddiya Stadium (Riyadh) and the social housing project in Cairns (Australia).
EBITDA reached €41 million, representing growth of 17.5%. The operating margin stood at 5.4%, similar to that recorded in 2025.
The revenue portfolio increased by 1.5% compared to December 2025, reaching €9,725.5 million. The international division grew by 2.9%, reaching €7,043.2 million, driven mainly by the addition of the King Salman International Airport contract (Saudi Arabia) to the portfolio.
Operational and contract milestones
- Last February, the consortium led by FCC Construcción was awarded a contract worth over €735 million to build the third runway at Riyadh International Airport (Saudi Arabia) along with the associated ancillary infrastructure. The project has an estimated execution period of 3.5 years and contributes an attributable portfolio of over €400 million.
- In the field of civil engineering in Spain, highlights include the award of the Arco Norte de Murcia project, the contract to upgrade a section of the A-4 motorway, with a combined value of €125 million, and participation in the consortium that won the €135.8 million contract to construct 11.8 kilometres of double-track railway line in Catalonia (Cambrils – Adif Vila-seca station section), with eleven stops, two of which are interchanges.
- Of particular note is the consortium in which FCC Construcción participates, which in March secured a €174 million contract to design and build the IFMIF-DONES, a particle accelerator to be constructed in Escúzar (Granada) to conduct experiments on fusion energy and advance towards a new model of clean and unlimited energy, such as that produced by stars.
