ONCE’s new corporate headquarters, developed by FCC Construcción, has been named the winning project in the office category at the 2026 edition of the ENR Best Projects, a highly prestigious global awards scheme organised by the influential publication Engineering News-Record, which recognises the world’s best construction projects based on criteria of innovation, safety, design quality and contribution to the community.

This international recognition highlights an iconic piece of infrastructure set to transform the standards of sustainable and inclusive building. Situated on the site of the historic ONCE school in Madrid, the new headquarters stands as the first and only corporate building — and the largest — designed on the principles of inclusivity, setting a historic milestone in accessible corporate architecture.

A cutting-edge, sustainable and inclusive complex

The project, carried out by FCC Construcción, comprises an advanced architectural complex characterised by buildings linked by walkways and organised around open squares and courtyards, extensive green spaces and an underground car park with capacity for nearly 400 spaces.

The complex’s design prioritises universal accessibility in every corner, incorporating advanced technological solutions to ensure that people with any kind of disability can carry out their work in a fully independent, safe and comfortable environment. Furthermore, the building meets the strictest standards of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, reaffirming the commitment of both FCC Construcción and ONCE to reducing the carbon footprint and promoting green innovation.
