The company has been at the centre of a busy institutional and economic programme that highlights its firm commitment to sustainable development, blended finance and the strengthening of transatlantic relations.

Sustainable finance: from theory to practice, led by FCC Construcción’s CFO

One of the highlights of the company’s participation took place as part of the CFO Coalition, where María Carrasco, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of FCC Construcción, was the keynote speaker at the roundtable discussion entitled From Playbook to Practice: Business-Led Blended Finance.

During her speech, Carrasco explored the mechanisms needed to move beyond theoretical frameworks and integrate sustainable finance directly into the day-to-day operations of major infrastructure projects. “Sustainable project financing is not an alternative, but the essential backbone for fulfilling the 2030 Agenda and ensuring a lasting legacy for citizens”, emphasised the company’s CFO. She also explained how FCC Construcción integrates the SDGs across the board into its capital structures, optimising competitiveness and reducing long-term financial risks.

Strategic partnership with the Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations alongside ICEX

Continuing its programme in New York, FCC Construcción took part in a high-profile event co-organised with the Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations and in collaboration with ICEX Spain Export and Investment.

The day began with a high-level session focusing on the business value of sustainability, during which specific success stories were analysed that demonstrated how ESG commitments could be directly linked to business strategy, operational excellence and international competitiveness. FCC Construcción is one of the few construction firms selected for its best practices in governance and sustainability.

Subsequently, the event evolved into a space for reflection, specifically designed to foster high-value connections in a friendly and relaxed setting. This initiative served as an ideal platform for consolidating partnerships, exchanging perspectives and exploring new avenues for collaboration between Spanish corporations, companies with an established presence in the United States, and leading representatives of organisations affiliated with the United Nations and Spanish institutions based in the US.
