On August 23rd, Madrid's Mayor, Alberto Ruíz-Gallardón, visited the Puente de Praga Sports Complex built by FCC in its setting within the Madrid River Project.

The new 9.286 m²-facilities located right on the right-hand edge of the Arganzuela park, parallel to Antonio López Street, house seven paddle tennis courts plus a regular tennis court, locker rooms and auxiliary facilities. The landscaping of the environment and the planting of 99 trees comprised part of this endeavor.

These courts, in which 4.5 million euros have been invested, funded charged to the National Local Investment Fund and integrated into the Southern Junction Forestation and Upgrading Plan will be managed by the Municipal Council of Carabanchel, in which the Madrid Paddle Tennis Federation, in charge of facilitating the teaching, will also be collaborating.

This measure increases the City's sports offer by putting a hard-to-reach space to good use, which the traffic and asphalt had turned into a "no man's land" due to the layout of the former M-30 ring road and contributes to encouraging sports being played among those who already enjoy playing these sports, as well as all citizens learning to play.

As part of the Madrid Río Project, FCC Construcción has completed the "Salón de Pinos", a large-scale space which has come into being on the "Puente del Rey" bridge esplanade where 8,360 trees have been planted as part of the Manzanares River Bank recovery effort, and the major sports infrastructure of the "Caja Mágica", which opened to the public in May 2009.
