The last caisson of the seawall works at the Port of Acu in Brazil is anchored
The construction works of the mixed-use TX1 terminal at the Port of Acu continue to make good progress and are approaching the final stages.

The last caisson of the main seawall alignment, number 38, was anchored on Saturday 14 March. There are only 3 caissons left to be anchored, corresponding to one of the 3 inner berths (to this date 44 caissons out of a total of 47 have been anchored).
The main challenge was to anchor 38 of the seawall's caissons under severe conditions and forced to contend with major difficulties.
At the moment, infill works are being carried out on the anchored caissons and progress stands at 91% of completion. The construction of the shelter wall is also being carried out, which, crowned at a height of +10.00, is built over two stages. The first, which reaches a height of +3.70 is 60% completed and the second 33%.
On the inner part of the seawall and the 3 berths, there are 3,096 metres of capping beam, with progress standing at 14% of completion.
In conjunction with all of these operations, the outer protection with a rubble-mound breakwater of 2 to 4 tonnes upon which the caissons are placed is also being carried out.
The works project also involves the construction of a sloping dike stretching 600 m long which has been divided into two building phases. The first phase (up to +4.00 in height), has almost reached completion on its core layers, filter and outer breakwater layer. A main layer will be also be built and made from Core-loc 10-tonne blocks, construction of which has just got underway. The second phase (up to +5.50) consists of the construction of a shelter wall and slab floor, as well as the final touch on the covering layer, which is still pending completion.
