The railways of the Regional Government of Catalonia, built by FCC, begin operation in Terrassa
On 28 July, the president of the Regional Government of Catalonia, Artur Mas, chaired the opening ceremony of Line 1 of the Railways of the Regional Government of Catalonia in Terrassa, executed in a temporary joint venture formed by FCC (36%), OHL (36%) and COPISA (28%).

Also at the ceremony were the mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Ballart, the Minister of Territory and Sustainability, Santi Vila, and the president of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, Enric Ticó. The Chairman of FCC Construcción, Miguel Jurado, and the Area Manager for the North, Santiago Farré Dôt, also attended on behalf of FCC.
The entourage visited the 3 new stations starting with Nacions Unides, in Can Roca, passing the RENFE Interchange station (Estació del Nord) and ending at the Estació de Vallparadís Universitat.
The Terrassa project consisted of a 4.5 km expansion of the line in double tunnel executed using tunnel boring machines, with a section 5 m in diameter, three new stations, a train depot, a new traction substation in Vallparadís and 3 emergency exits.
The project awarded to the temporary joint venture consisted of 2 awards: the first with a total budget of 245.6 million euros corresponding to the tunnels, railway lines, catenary and civil works on the stations, depot, substation and emergency exits, and the second with 50.7 million euros for architecture and installations.
The first award commenced at the beginning of 2007 and the second in November 2010, with the first one finishing in February 2014 and the second in July 2015.
