proyecto DEMOLTECH

Smart demolition and revalorization processes for the generation of circular raw materials in urban environments.

Objective

The general objective of DEMOLTECH is to conduct research for the development of a comprehensive prototype for smart demolition, through the investigation of revalorization processes to generate circular raw materials in urban environments, across the different phases of the deconstruction project cycle.

  • Design and development of a Digital Twin to predict the volume of waste generated in the design phase, for early decision-making that favors its minimization.
  • Develop a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) functionality tool for demolition materials to evaluate sustainable alternatives and make informed decisions about using new or revalorized materials in each particular case.
  • Development of a blockchain system for the certification of recycled materials and their recovery processes, promoting their digitization for the incorporation of information into the Digital Material Passport.
  • Research and development of an intelligent tool for in situ material identification based on artificial vision, for monitoring demolition tasks and their incorporation into the Digital Twin.
  • Development of an advanced tool for the separation of toxic and inert waste and on-site waste separation based on IoT and artificial vision solutions, for the automation and digitization of material records in accordance with current Waste Management regulations.
  • Integration of the previous technological prototypes into a comprehensive prototype demonstrator (TRL6) and in situ testing under quasi-real conditions of the prototype demonstrator to validate the experimental development advocated in DEMOLTECH.
