New prize for the Ebro River Bank project implemented by FCC Construcción

The Official Association of Architects of Aragón has handed the Ebro River Bank project, zone U-12, implemented by FCC Construcción, an honourable mention in the category of building and equipment for non-residential use, for enhancing this confluence of two rivers and making it more people-friendly.

The design, by architects Antonio Lorén, Eduardo Aragüés and Raimundo Bambó, consisted in modelling the earth using natural treatments to make the slope less severe and installing paths leading down to the river, so citizens can get to the water's edge. The design takes advantage of the special features of this space, the foremost of which are Unión Bridge and the mouth of the Huerva and Azud Rivers. The zone has a total area of 87,355 square metres and stretches for a length of 1,180 metres.

This project also recently received the Ricardo Magdalena prize.
