In response to a request from the Basque Institute of Occupational Safety -Osalan-, FCC Construcción participated in the Conference on Risk Prevention in Building held by Osalan in San Sebastián on 17 and 18 February 2010.

The lecture FCC gave was entitled "Evacuation and Emergency Plans in Civil Engineering Works", and it reviewed the applicable rules and regulations and gave examples of measures applied and drills run at dam, pipe-jacking and TBM tunnel-boring sites.

The presentation addressed the measures called for in emergency plans, site organisation to cover those measures, planned drills run (with evaluations of efficiency, response, resource appropriateness, etc.) plus the corrections applied after the drills.

Osalan's request can be traced to the fact that Osalan has worked regularly with FCC Construcción on different papers and studies in recent years and to the Institute's familiarity with the plans and procedures FCC Construcción uses at its building sites.
