FCC completes the first stadium for the 2012 Eurocup
The Poznan Stadium in Poland can accommodate 41,000 spectators

Poland has inaugurated the Poznan Stadium, the first 2012 Eurocup stadium, valued at €89 million and built by FCC's Austrian subsidiary in 21 months. The British singer, Sting, offered a vibrant inauguration concert.
The inaugural event was held on 30th September with a Europe League faceoff between Lech Poznan and Salzburg. On 17 November, the stadium will host a friendly match between the Polish and Ivory Coast teams.
The reconstruction and enlargement of the stadium required, among other things, the construction of two new spectator stands and a new roof. Designed by Sportfive in collaboration with the architect, Wojciech Ryżyński, the new Poznan Stadium is built on the site of a former football field from the sixties. Although renovations began in 2002, it was not until 2006, when Poland presented its candidacy for the 2012 Eurocup, that the most significant work got underway in earnest.
After the the Eurocup, the stadium will be used for the Poland's first division league and by the KKS Lech, which has 20,000 followers.
