On 15 December 2009 Minister of Transport Mircea Berceanu of Rumania, accompanied by Director-General of Roads Dorina Tiron, the Japanese ambassador to Rumania, Natsuo Amemiya, and local authorities opened the section of road DN6 between kilometre points 500+400 and 552+600, which has been improved and rehabilitated.

The job, which was done by FCC, included work to protect and reroute affected services, the rehabilitation of the paving, bridges and drainage work, signposting and horizontal signage and environmental work.

National road DN6 Lugoj-Timisoara (E60) is one of the main roads of Rumania.
