FCC participates in Downing Street in a multilateral meeting with Spanish companies

FCC participated in Downing Street in the Spain-United Kingdom multilateral meeting. The CEO of the FCC Group, Pablo Colio, participated on Wednesday in a business roundtable in London with the Spanish and UK Ministers of Economy and a small group of Spanish and British companies. A debate was held to analyse opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and investment between the UK and Spain, and how we can take advantage of the agreement between the EU and the UK to deepen commercial collaboration between the two countries.

The meeting, held at Downing Street, the official residence of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, was chaired by British Minister for the Economy Rachel Reeves and Spanish Minister for Economy, Trade and Business Carlos Cuerpo. The event was then closed by Starmer and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

Over the last 125 years, FCC has participated in the development of some of the most important infrastructure projects on the planet. Examples include the design and construction of the Mersey Bridge in Liverpool, considered by KPMG to be one of the 100 most important infrastructure projects in the world, and the construction of the IBC for the 2012 London Olympics, where we were the only Spanish company to participate in the development of the infrastructure for these Olympic Games.

The extension of the A465 motorway in Wales, a key infrastructure for mobility in the Welsh region, has recently been completed.

The environment division serves more than 23 million people in 130 municipalities in the United Kingdom through the provision of various services, such as waste collection, transfer, treatment, recycling and energy recovery, street cleaning, green space maintenance and facility management. In 2024, turnover reached £781.9 million (approximately €925 million), structured around three main divisions: Recycling, Waste to Energy (WtE) and Landfills.
The WtE business has nine projects with a combined capacity of 2.6 million tonnes per year and 215 MW of renewable electricity, eight of which are in operation, in addition to the Lostock plant, which will come on stream at the end of 2026.

The company develops key projects to improve the quality of life of the local communities in which it operates. It involves communities in its projects and develops them with innovation, applying social, financial, environmental and governance sustainability criteria.

FCC is a company that began operating in 1900 and today, just as 125 years ago, the essence of the company is its employees, more than 71,000 people who, day after day, with great technical ability and commitment, develop the best international projects.

It currently serves more than 800 million people worldwide, managing their waste, managing water in their cities and building infrastructure. We are a company committed to citizens and people.
