FCC wins a contract to build a bus station in Hungary

FCC has recently secured the contract to build the central bus station in Hatvan, Hungary, through FCC's Austrian subsidiary ALPINE. The contract was signed during a ceremony that boasted the presence of Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai, Mayor Zsolt Érsek, the general manager of the Hatvan bus company, Csaba Uti, and the manager of ALPINE's division for Hungary, András Heli.

Upholding tradition, the contract was placed in a metal capsule together with a 100-forint coin and was then buried beneath the cornerstone during the official groundbreaking ceremony.

This project will bring together the city's oldest and newer districts, known as "Old Hatvan" and "New Hatvan". The conclusion of construction work on this bus station is scheduled for September, at which time the parking problems that have troubled the area for years will be eliminated

The new bus station will become one of the most modern such facilities in the entire country. It will have two levels, and the bus arrival and departure areas will be roofed. The station is designed in reinforced concrete. It will accommodate a total of 18 buses at one time, and it will be surrounded by a green area spreading over approximately 5,500 square metres.
