FCC co-engineers a master’s degree programme at the University of Cantabria
- Post-graduate degree in building science
- FCC offers selected students paid internships

The general manager of FCC Construcción, Avelino Juan Acero Díaz, and the chancellor of the University of Cantabria, José Carlos Gómez Sal, have signed a cooperation agreement for the implementation of the school’s construction science programme.
This master’s degree programme is designed for students who already hold an undergraduate degree in civil engineering, so they can learn more about new management systems applied in the building industry and new technologies, and thus stay abreast of the latest developments and do a more efficient job as building site managers.
The academic programme is set up as a series of courses covering theory and practice, drawn from FCC Construcción’s continuing training programme. The students who take these courses are expected to master abilities and skills that will complement their education in civil engineering.
The subjects from the training plan will be taught on line using the University of Cantabria’s platform. Classes requiring attendance in person will be taught either at the UC’s School of Advanced Civil Engineering or at FCC Construcción’s facilities in Madrid.
The programme will be directed by the Construction Engineering Area in cooperation with the GITECO Research Group and FCC Construcción’s Training Department.
In order to register for the master’s degree programme in building science, students must undergo a screening process run by FCC Construcción.
Selected participants will be offered a four-month internship with FCC. These paid internships may be scheduled to begin at the same time as the teaching plan, at FCC’s convenience.
