ALPINE To Build the Clinical Centre in Mistelbach

The Lower Austrian State Clinics Holding Co. has awarded the contract to rehabilitate and build the new Weinviertel Clinical Centre in the Austrian region of Mistelbach to a joint venture partnering FCC's Austrian subsidiary, ALPINE, with two other companies.

The contract budget for the rehabilitation work and the construction of a new annex to the historic clinical centre will be 175 million euro, and work is estimated to be concluded in 2017. ALPINE, VAMED and the Hypo-Leasing company will execute the plans, which call for Hypo-Leasing to be in charge of financing, while ALPINE and VAMED will take care of construction. Karl Grüber, Managing Director of ALPINE, says the clinical centre will create high added value for the region, as it will be employing about 50 local companies.

The Weinviertel Clinical Centre

The historic core of the Weinviertel Clinical Centre will be rehabilitated in the course of the project. In addition, a new building will be built, with a useful area of 13,000 square metres. The new building will have a section for the parents of hospitalized children and latest-generation medical facilities. The challenge the project must meet is to get the rehabilitation work done and the new building constructed without disturbing the hospital's regular activity.
