FCC awarded dam-building contract in Cáceres worth €29.21 million

The Spanish  Ministry of the Environment has awarded FCC the contract for the Alcollarín dam,  in Cáceres province, worth 29.21 million euros.

The  project covers building the dam to a maximum height above foundations of 31 metres, 630 metres in length and  7 metres  thick at the crown.

The  front spillway consists of three 10-metre spans, with a spill rate of 300 cubic metres per  second.


The  bottom outlet is composed of two pipes, plus two more for the inlet for the channel,  and another two for the supply inlets.


The contract also includes channelling 882 metres long to  waters under the C-401 road bridge over the river Alcollarín, installing the  necessary devices to monitor and survey the dam, the building of a  waterproofing cut-off and land-consolidation treatment in the support area of  the dam.
