The Department of Public Works of the Canaries Regional Government has awarded FCC Construcción in a joint venture with other companies, the motorway project from Puerto Rico to Mogán, in Gran Canaria, for 11.7 million euros.

The new 6,300 metre section involves 3,805 metres of tunnels and 1,130 metres of viaducts. The motorway will have two carriageways each with two 3.5 metre wide lanes. The work will start as soon as the land is prepared.

The new road extends the CG1 Motorway as far as Mogán, connecting this town with the capital and easing the traffic problems which currently exist on the GC 500 road.
