Torre Picasso stands with Madrid 2016

The Madrid 2016 hand logo was projected tonight on the main façade of Torre Picasso to support the city's candidacy to organize the Olympic Games. The hand will be projected onto the building again on the night of 1 to 2 October.

The picture was reflected off the wall that faces Paseo de la Castellana, and it occupied an area of approximately 1,600 square metres.

Two 25,000-lumen projectors set up in a nearby building were used to light up the famous "Olympic hand".

FCC, which owns Torre Picasso, is participating in the category of preferred sponsor in the Madrid 2016 candidacy sponsorship program.

Madrid, Chicago, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro are the final contenders for the 2016 Olympic Games. The IOC will decide next Friday in Copenhagen which city will be the Olympic host.

Torre Picasso, which is 157 metres tall and has 43 floors, has been a symbol of modern Madrid since it was first opened in 1989.
