FCC to bring in 150 people with disabilities over the next three years

The ONCE Foundation and FCC signed an agreement in Madrid on the 17th last that will enable 150 people with disabilities to enter the company's workforce over the next three years.

The accord, sponsored by FCC's leading shareholder, Esther Koplowitz, was signed by ONCE and ONCE Foundation President Miguel Carballeda and FCC Chairman and Managing Director Baldomero Falcones.

The agreement is just part of the activities the ONCE Foundation is conducting under the Programme For Talent, a plan for the training and employment of people with disabilities. The programme is co-funded by the European Social Fund.

FSC Inserta, the ONCE Foundation's bureau for the employment and training of people with disabilities, will be running candidate prescreening and will promote the necessary training activities to bring candidate profiles into alignment with the jobs FCC will be offering.

For its part, FCC will favour the indirect integration of people with disabilities into the working world through purchasing goods and engaging services from what the ONCE and the ONCE Foundation have tagged as "Special Employment Centres".

Furthermore, the ONCE Foundation will advise FCC on any actions or programmes it starts up under its corporate social responsibility policy to help improve the living conditions of people with disabilities.

One of the main objectives targeted in FCC's CSR Master Plan is commitment to the sustainability of the Group's activities, to be implemented through encouraging socially responsible actions that respond to stakeholder expectations.
