FCC cooperates with the Cookstown Tender Programme in Northern Ireland.

FCC has participated in the Tender Programme event organized by the Cookstown District Council and launched on 25 February.
The launch was supported by our FCC team in the United Kingdom, headed by Rafael Fouquié, manager for the UK and Ireland. It was the ideal forum for pursuing three of our objectives: to let people know about what FCC Construcción does, to make contact with local suppliers and to present FCC’s project for the fire and police training facility soon to be built in Cookstown.
Around 130 people attended the event, where Rafael Fouquié presented FCC Construcción’s activities and the new training centre project. This activity is just part of the Tender Programme funded by Cookstown District Council and Invest NI and cofunded in part by the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.
On 4 March another meet has been set up with local suppliers. This programme gives local suppliers an excellent opportunity to get assistance in learning how to bid on tenders.
FGP, a consortium made up of FCC and Northern Ireland’s Gilbert-Ash, was selected in 2013 by the Northern Ireland Policing Board (NIPB) as the preferred bidder for the Desertcreat Irish police and fire service training centre project. The training centre will feature facilities such as classrooms, ICT suits, learning simulator suites, lecture halls, athletic facilities, rooms and hands-on training areas where trainees can take part in simulations of fire rescues, public disturbances, emergency situations, driver training, prison situations, rural training and sea rescues.
The lot occupies approximately 112 hectares, with an approach from the main road and a system of internal roads, and it will have 650 parking spaces.
