FCC Canada celebrates ‘Health and Safety Day’

FCC Canada celebrated ‘Health and Safety Day’ in Toronto. They brought together all the safety professionals from all the projects the company is developing in Canada, as well as representatives from partners and client executives. Together they enjoyed a day of interactive discussions and collaborative team-building activities. The celebration focused on the theme ‘Safety starts at home, grows at work and returns where it matters most,’ reinforced by the company's ongoing commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture to achieve an ‘accident-free’ workplace.
The event featured a variety of engaging presentations designed to enhance safety awareness across all operations. Highlights included appearances by Enrique Marijuan Castro, Executive Vice President for North America, and Pedro López-Bravo, Senior Vice President of Operations, which emphasised the company's ongoing investment in safety programmes to create a positive safety culture. Safety professionals from projects in Toronto, ONxpress Transportation Partners, Scarborough Transit Connect, Pape North Connect, North End Connectors, Cross Fraser Partnership in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Fredericton-Moncton in New Brunswick joined FCC Saudi Arabia in Riyadh to share their knowledge and best practices on the importance of workplace safety, as safety knows no borders or boundaries. A visit to the Scarborough subway extension project in the afternoon further connected team members and highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between planning and execution.
This Safety Day was a day of engagement, a cornerstone of FCC Canada's year-round efforts to ensure the health and well-being of all team members. By combining education with celebration, FCC Canada highlighted how workplace safety is embedded in its organisational culture.
