The Atlántida Theatre in Vic, an FCC construction, is to participate in the Venice Biennale of Architecture

The Atlántida Theatre will participate in the 15th Venice Biennale of Architecture, held from 28 May until 27 November.
This building, constructed by FCC in 2010, forms part of the Aftermath_Catalonia project (Architecture beyond architects), led by the architects Jaume Prat and Jelena Prokoplevic, and the Gerona-born film director, Isaki Lacuesta.
This project seeks to "introduce new ways of expressing architecture while also breaking the spectator / screen duo, using a complex and impacting overall picture, which reveals all of its elements to the spectator by projecting on translucent crystals," said Prat, co-curator of the project exhibited in the former naval warehouse, headquarters of the Catalan Pavilion.
The Atlántida Theatre in Vic, constructed by FCC, is a compact complex under one roof that houses a three-room theatre and a conservatory with specific spaces in which to welcome people of all ages and musical levels (from amateurs to professionals).
As such, the current Atlántida Theatre brings together the functions of the old theatre of the same name, which was destroyed by fire, with those of the former conservatory, which has been outgrown by the city of 42,000 residents that has a big musical tradition.
