Caja Mágica – built by FCC – the venue of the European Volleyball League held on 26 and 27 June

Stadium 2 of Caja Mágica, designed by Dominique Perrault and constructed by FCC, played venue to the European Volleyball League - Men & Women, on 26 and 27 June. National teams compete in this annual continental volleyball tournament, the major event on the volleyball sports calendar.
The facilities, operated by "Madrid Espacios y Congresos" hosted the Final Four, an impressive event for volleyball fans.
Caja Mágica is structured around two buildings, Caja Mágica and Tennis Indoor, with a combined useable space of 103,365 m2. The Caja Mágica building contains three central courts, with seating capacities of 12,000, 3,750 and 2,600 respectively. The main innovation lies in the convertible roofs, which mean that open air stadiums can convert into roofed stadiums within minutes. It also has dedicated areas for players and referees, the press, food and beverages, and the public in general.
Tennis Indoor, which has 11 covered courts, is a multipurpose building boasting a sports club, gymnasium, spa, restaurant and an administrative area. In addition to all these facilities, there are 16 open air courts and a parking area.
The complex offers multipurpose spaces where all type of sports or cultural events can be held. Within just one year of opening, Caja Mágica already occupies a prominent place on the Madrid skyline.
