FCC Construcción hands out the 2009 Fomento Awards for Quality and Innovation
These awards are given each year to the most outstanding projects and the best work in RD&I
In its meeting held on 18 January 2010, FCC Construcción's Sustainability Committee decided to give the 2009 Fomento Awards to the following jobs:
• The Fomento Quality Award for Building Project Excellence in 2009 was awarded to the Caja Mágica, a project belonging to Zone II and handled by the Madrid Building I and Madrid Building III Offices.
• The Fomento Quality Award for Civil Works Project Excellence in 2009 was awarded to the New Access to Maliaño Quay in Santander, a project belonging to Zone VIII and handled by the North Office.
• The 2009 Fomento Innovation Award was given to the variable-length working platform especially designed for sliding scaffolding, developed by Austrian subsidiary ALPINE.
The Fomento Quality Awards for Project Excellence of the Year were instituted in 1995 by the management of FCC Construcción as part of its policy of continual improvement, to acknowledge the effort of the company personnel who have most distinguished themselves in the introduction of the principles of quality management during works development and execution.
The annual Fomento Innovation Award was created later, in line with the company's innovation policy, to acknowledge the action of the company personnel who have most distinguished themselves by their fostering, development and introduction of activities related with research, development and innovation in the field of construction.
