The "Workplace Safety and Health Award" was created by the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore is highly committed to human safety and health to offer companies an incentive to deal with this important topic and to test their performance against the competition. A special prize is awarded for large-scale projects (SHARP) to also allow, for example, construction companies to participate.

ALPINE submitted its C852 and C855 projects two sections of the Metro expansion project in Singapore. Both projects won silver in 2008.

Winners of the SHARP award must achieve: either no reportable accident at the workplace in 2008 or at least 1 million man-hours without a reportable accident, no accident that caused death or permanent disability, no absences from work due to serious injuries and an injury rate that is 25 % lower than the average industry rate.
