ADIF gives FCC the contract for the accesses to La Sagrera Station, worth 223 million euro

The completion period will be 54 months

The public corporation ADIF has awarded a joint venture featuring FCC Construcción the contract to build the accesses to La Sagrera Station, worth 223 million euro, in a 54-month completion period.

The work consists in building the access roads to the future La Sagrera Station and two local train lines, Villafranca-Maçanet and Vilanova-Mataró, which will lie below the station, as well as the bed for the high-speed Madrid-Barcelona-French Border train line, which sits above the local lines.

The layout of the local lines dips where the lines enter the station and rises again later to the layout's initial level, whereas the high-speed line has a mostly horizontal layout.

The structural solution calls for areas of surrounding and central retaining walls (from 0.6 to one metre thick and up to 30 metres deep), supporting piers, sills, floor structures and the premises' roof, which relies on prefabricated components.

Plans are also to build a logistics area attached to the northern part of the station structure, with an approximate area of 57,000 m2, plus access roads and the station's 2,800-m2 bus parking area next to the logistics area.
