A study directed by Servià Cantó wins the prize for best report at the Sixth ASEFMA Workshop

The publication "Pavimentos sostenibles PAS" -"PAS Sustainable Pavements"- received the prize for the best open-topic report at the Sixth National ASEFMA Workshop.
The finalist publications were presented at the workshop and assessed by a panel of renowned road technology experts. The prize-winning report was presented by Eva Campmol -Servià Cantó-.
The authors of the paper were: Christian Cortés (Servià Cantó), Juan Manuel Cadenas (Servià Cantó), Carolina Rios (Servià Cantó), Carlos García (Collosa), Pablo Pascual (GITECO-UNICAN), Amaya Vega (GITECO-UNICAN) and Daniel Castro (GITECO-UNICAN).

This development was made as part of the Task 5 activities of the Fénix Project, led within the consortium by Servià Cantó, an FCC Construcción Group firm.
The winning report concerns a novel procedure for capturing heat energy from the sun through the use of asphalt pavements through which a heat-bearing fluid circulates. The idea behind this technology is to endeavour to recover a substantial part of the energy pavements receive, which at the present time goes to waste. In addition to addressing the issue of capturing energy, the report also deals with the problem of storing the recovered energy.
