Prime Minister António Costa visits work of the junction between the Beira Baixa and Beira Alta Lines, in construction by Ramalho Rosa Cobetar

On September 7, the Prime Minister, António Costa, and the Minister of Planning and Infrastructures, Pedro Marques, visited the construction of the future junction between the Beira Baixa and Beira Alta Lines.
The entourage was received by the Vice Presidents of the Infraestruturas de Portugal, Carlos Fernandes and José Serrano Gordo, the Project Director, José Clemente, the project managers Nuno Mendes and Bruno Bernardo, and the mayors of Guarda and Covil.
Ramalho Rosa Cobetar (RRC) was attended by its Administrator, António Ribeiro Mendes and the Production Director, Nuno Castro.
The Project Manager explained the work in progress and the Vice President of Infraestruturas de Portugal, Carlos Fernandes, presented the North International Corridor, namely the Beira Baixa Line, Beira Alta Line and the junction between both lines.
This visit ended with interventions by the Minister of Planning and Infrastructures, Pedro Marques, and the Prime Minister.
Also present were the Secretary of State for Infrastructures, Guilherme d'Oliveira Martins, several other mayors, deputies and other entities.
The junction is part of the modernization of the Beira Baixa Line, between Covilhã and Guarda, awarded at the end of 2017 to RRC, the Portuguese construction company of the FCC Group, in consortium with another national company.
