The Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, and the Minister of Environment and Climate Action, Matos Fernandes, accompanied by the president of Iberdrola, Ignacio Galán, visited the Tâmega Hydroelectric Complex, in the district of Vila Real.

Ignacio Galán, after visiting the Daivões dam and Gouvães sub-station, announced the investment of 200 million euros in “new wind projects” in the Alto Tâmega region, which will provide clean energy to 800 thousand customers in Portugal.

António Costa highlighted the importance of the project, both for meeting the carbon neutrality goals and for the evolution of the national economy and added that it is the best way to lower energy costs.

RRC, in association with FCC Construcción, are the contractors for the Gouvães dam. Bernardo Teixeira, for RRC and José António Madrazo, Roberto Monteagudo and Pedro Alvarez, for FCC Construcción, represented this group.

The Tâmega Electro-Producer System (SET) is one of the largest hydroelectric projects in Europe, in the last 25 years, with an investment of 1,500 million euros.
