Bernardo Teixeria, RRC country manager, participated last November 6, in the event “making global goals local business-Iberia”, organized by the United Nations Global Compact, the Portugal Global Compact Network and the Covenant Network World Cup in Spain.

The event convened in Lisbon, the main leaders of the most leading companies in Portugal, different members of the country's government, with the aim of directing collective action towards the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the Development Goals Sustainable (SDG).

Undoubtedly, the event has been an opportunity for companies, such as RRC, that play an active role in fulfilling the SDGs, to present the most innovative solution in water resources management as well as sustainable energy, implementing good practices.

RRC participated in the round table “Cutting Edge Efforts to Safeguard Iberia’s Water & Clean Energy Sources: SDGs 6 & 7 in focus”, together with the president of Aguas de Portugal.

RRC as a responsible company, understands the different social, environmental and economic contexts in which its activities are carried out, and advances to achieve a more sustainable and environmentally friendly construction. Thus, it incorporates sustainability in the company's strategy as part of its structure, in an integral way, linking the three pillars of sustainability, economic, social and environmental, in each project and in a transversal way in the company.

Precisely because of the nature of the construction activity, one of RRC's strongest lines of action is the promotion of sustainability in construction, not only by analyzing the company's environmental behavior, but also by participating in the development of guidelines that help companies in the construction sector to follow this path.

RRC is aware that its activities generate environmental and social impacts in the environments in which they are carried out. Knowing and measuring these impacts is the first step in establishing strategies aimed at minimizing them.

With the aim of minimizing its environmental footprint and establishing priorities for action, from the integrated planning process of each work, the environmental aspects are identified, first identifying the potential impacts, and then evaluating their magnitude, amount of pollution or alteration, to identify the most significant. This process also takes into account the sensitivity of the environment in which the project is developed.
