FCC Construcción committed to the sustainable development of the communities in which it operates in Costa Rica. It designs and undertakes programmes for the development of these communities by supporting children, youths, culture, sport and the solidarity-based economy.

Some of the activities we have carried out on projects include:

Road safety awareness:

Road safety awareness is important to FCC Construcción in Costa Rica. The development of new infrastructure must be accompanied by actions taken to prevent risks to physical health and limts the impact on quality of life for individuals.

For this reason FCC Construcción has carried out several road awareness Campaigns in schools and communities near road projects.

Health:

FCC Construcción believes that safeguarding health in communities is of paramount importance. It implements initiatives aimed at preventing health-related problems and securing healthy living conditions. The following are among the projects carried out:

• Campaign to eliminate breeding grounds of mosquitoes, which transmit the dengue and chikungunya viruses.
• Campaigns to make communities near the projects aware of the importance of taking measures to avoid illnesses such as the chikungunya virus and tuberculosis.
• Refurbishment and cleaning of important areas with the aim of providing communities with better living conditions.
