Challenge:

Improvement of the Puma Rescue Centre facilities to avoid any negative impact, as a result of site works and concrete plant, on felines sheltered at the centre.

Solutions:

FCC Construcción in Costa Rica worked with the Rescue Centre and the National System of Conservation Areas (Arenal-Tempisque) to provide a comprehensive protection system and improve the environment for the animals.

Aggregates and materials were donated to construct noise protection barriers.

Results:

These measures improved the habitats of four pumas, two jaguars and 10 apes.
