“Parque Mapocho Río” celebrated National Holidays with the community and local authorities

In an activity that had the participation of 100 people linked to the “Parque Río Mapocho”  project, a new anniversary of Chilean National Holidays was celebrated. Leaders, neighbors, FCC Construcción workers and authorities gathered to enjoy a day of Chilean traditions.

The event was inaugurated by local authorities, among which the director of the Housing and Urban Planning Service of the Metropolitan Region, Juana Nazal, the mayor of the Quinta Normal commune, Karina Delfino, and the mayor of the Cerro Navia commune stand out. , Mauro Tamayo. All agreed on the importance of citizen participation in the project, both in its design and execution stages.

The event concluded with a workshop to make and fly kites, gathering the community around a typical and popular activity during these festivals. All this, accompanied by Chilean gastronomy and maintaining prevention measures against COVID-19

“Parque Mapcho Río” seeks to recover and revitalize the south bank of this river in the western sector of Santiago. At the end of its construction, it will have an area of 52 hectares in 9 kilometers in length. It is the largest urban work project with green areas contemplated in the current program of the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism of Chile, and the second largest urban project at the national level. FCC Construcción won five of the six total sections of the project.
