FCC Construcción pledges its full commitment to development as part of its business activity In Brazil.

The company is a leader in Latin America in the development and application of protection programs focussed on wildlife and flora. One of the main projects the company has implemented is its Biodiversity Protection Program, which has received recognition from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The program is focused on aiding reproduction of the Loggerhead sea turtle, a protected andnendangered species. Since the artificial lighting used on work sites can cause light pollution which impacts negatively on the turtles’ reproduction, the company has taken measures to minimise the impact of this in work areas. Both light towers and all other structures are painted in a dark, matt colour and the lighting system is turned off whenever it is not being used for a specific purpose.  Work schedules have been adopted to minimise any negative impact, and workers have also been given awareness training.
